Fescue Renovation

Does your lawn need a fresh start?  Do you have mixed grasses and weeds?  Is your warm season grass struggling due to lack of sunlight?  Sod installation typically ranges from $2 to $3 per square foot, while Fescue Renovations can often be completed at ~20% of that cost!

A Fescue Renovation process includes two visits with the following steps:

1. The lawn should be cut to 3" or lower prior to service, but Level Lawns can also perform this step

2. We apply a non-selective herbicide that will quickly kill both the existing weeds/grasses and their root systems to minimize any "bounce back" of unwanted plants/grasses.

We return in 10-14 days and complete the remaining steps:

1. Deep Core Aeration of all turf areas w/ high end aerators that pull deep cores

2. Application of Top Rated Premium Fescue Seed

3. Application of Premium Starter Fertilizer

4. Broadcast spreading of ERTH Food Organic Compost (the best compost product available for this purpose)

5. Another application of Top Rated Fescue Seed

This process ensures a higher rate of seed to soil contact combined with a higher application rate of seed (known as the establishment rate).  The result is a new, weed free lawn in 3-4 weeks at a fraction of the cost of sod.

Level Lawns also has the equipment and expertise to combine this service with soil correction, grading, and drainage solutions so your new fescue lawn is setup for long term success.  With all renovations, we always want to assess the root causes of why the lawn needs a full replacement.  This may require additional top soils to replenish nutrients, moss remediation to remove moss that has taken over the yard, or suggestions for trimming tree canopies to increase sunlight penetration to the turf areas.
